The Science of Renewal: How Peels Transform Skin

Chemical peels use targeted blends of acids to safely dissolve the bonds holding dead, damaged cells to the skin's surface. This controlled exfoliation forces the skin to regenerate, bringing fresh, healthy cells to the top and boosting collagen production in the lower layers.

🔆

Brighten Pigmentation & Sun Damage

Peels effectively lift and shed superficial pigmentation, including sunspots, age spots, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. This results in a visibly brighter and more uniform complexion.

🧼

Clear Acne & Refine Texture

Salicylic acid and other actives penetrate deep into the pores, dissolving oil and congestion, which helps clear active acne breakouts. The exfoliating action simultaneously smooths rough texture and minimizes the appearance of pores.

Boost Collagen & Smooth Lines

By irritating the deeper layers of the skin, peels signal a healing response, which includes increasing the production of collagen. This firms the skin and dramatically reduces the depth of fine lines and wrinkles.

📈

Maximize Product Absorption

Removing the barrier of dead skin cells allows your medical-grade home care products to penetrate more effectively, multiplying the benefits of your skincare routine and improving overall skin barrier function.

Chemical Peel Preparation and Aftercare

Q: How should I prepare my skin before a chemical peel?

A: You must discontinue using prescription retinoids (Retin-A, Tretinoin) and any harsh exfoliants (AHA/BHA serums) for at least 5–7 days prior to your appointment. Avoid waxing or tanning in the week leading up to the peel.

Q: What is the most important part of peel aftercare?

A: Sun protection is critical. You must apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily, regardless of the weather, as the newly exposed skin is highly sensitive to UV damage. Avoid picking or peeling the skin, let it shed naturally.

Q: Is a single chemical peel enough?

A: While a single peel provides noticeable improvement, a series of 3 treatments (spaced 4–6 weeks apart) is required to achieve the necessary cellular turnover for deep correction of acne, sun damage, and textural issues.

Q: Is there anyone who should NOT receive a chemical peel?

A: Peels are generally safe, but should be avoided if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have an active cold sore outbreak, or have used Accutane within the last six months.
